Stage school;

When I was around 13 years old I joined The Academy Stage School, in which I attended weekly classes not only learning Singing, Dancing and Acting skills but also working as a show team and performing yearly shows and summer schools. This is where my stage performances really started.
My first ever lead role was Aretha Franklin in Blue Brothers, performed in a full scale variety show with the Academy at the Playhouse Theatre in Harlow, and from that day my time on stage grew very quickly.

The Academy gave me the confidence and the push I needed, not only did I experience my first few lead roles, including Aretha in Blues Brothers, Adelaide in Guys and Dolls, Marty in Grease, Elphaba in Wicked and Crystal in Little Shop of Horrors - but The Academy also showed me what I was really capable of. They put trust in me to perform, which made me put trust in myself.

Being with Academy, I also made it onto their agency; and was represented by my fantastic agent, Alex Shiolou. The Academy use Spotlight, the UK's leading Casting directory as a casting tool, and so not only was I being represented by Alex, but it also got myself onto Spotlight. I was sent for various bits and bobs, although I didn't find my 'staring west end role' I had lots of fun auditioning, playing extras and taking part in short films etc.

The Academy also introduced me to LAMDA lessons - The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. I took lessons for several weeks and was ready to attend my exam, but things got in the way and unfortunately I never got the chance, I would take it back up in a heartbeat though if given the chance.

The Academy took me from a young girl, lost in the mind of performance to a confident women - ready for the stage. And for that, I thank them - and would recommend them to anyone!

Each show and performance provided me with a different unique experience, and I loved every minute of them all - from meeting new friends, learning scripts, blocking, setting, learning new dances to picking out costumes, dress runs, tech runs, building sets and much more. My times doing these show were some of the best of my life.
